Hawaiian Heirloom Jewelry (Lako Ho'onani Ho'oilina)
The history of Hawaiian Heirloom Jewelry dates back over 100 years ago when Hawaii's Queen Kapi'olani and Princess Lili'uokalani attended Queen Victoria's Jubilee in England. At the jubilee, Queen Victoria presented two precious bracelets with their names engraved in Old English Lettering and enameled in black. The Hawaiian royalty adopted the English's black enameled jewelry and added their own Hawaiian inspired designs of maile leaves and plumeria flower.

Hawaiian Heirloom Jewelry continues to serve as an enduring symbol of Hawaiian royalty. Today, Hawaiian Heirloom Jewelry is given to celebrate milestones: birthdays, graduations, weddings and anniversaries.

Plumeria (Melia)
The Hawaiian plumeria flowers symbolize love and happiness. Hawaiians use plumeria flower leis to greet and welcome visitors to the island. These beautiful flowers can be seen growing in trees along the beach and in the mountains of Hawaii.

Maile Leaf
Known as "The Royal Lei," the maile lei is given to show one's honor and respect. While the maile lei was highly valued by the ali'i (Hawaiian royalty), the maile lei was worn by people of all classes for many special occasions. In Hawaiian culture, the maile lei is the most traditional wedding lei. In ancient times, the Kahuna (Hawaiian priest) would use the maile lei to bind the hands of the bride and groom. The maile lei symbolizes friendship as well as love.
